Sunday's GOSH London Bridges Walkathon, which was attend by 175 students, teachers, parents and grandparents. In all we had a great day out on our sponsored walk in aid of GOSH.
The weather was very kind to us, with us yet again having the hottest day of the year on our walk, reaching 30c. Despite the blistering heat, everyone managed to keep a good pace and all finally completed the walk.
I would like to thank everyone behind the scenes involved at Greensward, Clacton and New Rickstones Academies, for their continued support in aid of GOSH and making this event happen. Special thanks to the Group Leaders, Mary Pickett at Greensward, Adie Howell at New Rickstones, and Di Bignall at Clacton in organising their team of students and support staff.
Our next challenge is to collect in the sponsorship money, which tends to take a while, but we normally have this completed in September when we return to school after the summer break, at which time we will have a total figure for the amount. Once you have your individual Academy's total, could you please let me know in order that we can arrange the payments to be made to GOSH.
There will be an official presentation later in the year of the total money raised at GOSH in London, where we will invite a representative ( Teacher and Student )from each Academy to attend the presentation.
The GOSH London Bridges Walkathon 2012, is only twelve months away, and we would like to extend our invitation for all AET Academies to join us next year. If you would like your Academy to attend this event next year, please register your interest with myself, and I will keep you informed of the proposed date, and provide a presentation to your students to let them know more about the event.
As a Trustee of GOSH, I would like to offer my sincere thanks for your support in aid of GOSH.
