Young actors thrilled their audience with a production of Frankenstein.

Performing arts students at New Rickstones Academy, in Conrad Road, Witham, put on the stage adaptation by Patrick Sandford.

Jamie Gordon, 17, played The Creature and directed the show. He said: “The audience seemed to really enjoy our show. It’s the first time I’ve ever directed anything like this, but it was a great experience directing my peers as that’s the type of work I’d like to do in future after drama school. I’d like to get involved in directing and acting. Now I’ve done it once, I’d feel more confident to do it again.”

Principal Trenica King was in the audience and said: “It was a thrilling performance; spine-chilling at times. It really was powerful and I’m very proud of everyone involved in the production.”
