As you may be aware we are running Career Academies here at New Rickstones Academy from September which is primarily to benefit our students in the 6th form.
We are pleased to announce that we have had our launch and that business persons have volunteered to take part in the various strands of the scheme which include;
- Internships – 6 week paid placements
- GURU lectures – talking about various aspects of business
- Visits and seminars – visiting businesses to see the working world
- Partners in business – business people guiding students through their 6th form studies.
The overall aim of Career Academies at New Rickstones Academy is to raise the aspirations of our 16-19 year olds so that they may make informed decisions about their futures and choose subjects with real impact. They will gain experiences of the working world and interact with many business persons so to gain the essential skills in preparation for further education and the workplace
We have many business persons attending representing a wide selection of the careers that are available to our young people today.
This is a fantastic opportunity for business and students alike and we are welcoming new businesses to take part for our first cohort starting this September.
