Academy Uniform

Dress Code – Key Stages 3 and 4

To create a sense of identity and belonging to the NRA community and to alleviate the pressures of keeping up with changes in fashion, all students in Key Stages 3 and 4 must wear full Academy uniform. This must be adhered to throughout the timetabled day as well as whilst travelling to and from the Academy.

Main Uniform

• Black Blazer with Academy logo**;
• Plain white school shirt;
• House tie**;
• Plain black trousers;
• Plain dark socks;
• Plain black skirt of modest length;
• Plain black or skin coloured tights (girls only);
• Plain black v-necked sweater / cardigan (optional and no longer than blazer);
• Plain black leather or leather look shoes with no obvious branding;
• Suitable outdoor coat (academy coats are available).

** These items must be purchased from the Academy

Students are not permitted to wear the following;

• Hooded tops, caps or denim.
• Jewellery on grounds of safety and security (except for watches and one small plain sleeper or stud for pierced ears, no more than one per ear). Nose studs and other facial piercings are not allowed.

Discreet make up is permitted; no nail varnish except for clear. Hair should be neat and tidy. Extreme or ‘attention seeking’ styles are not suitable. Only NRA Responsibility Badges are permitted.

PE Uniform

The clothing requirements for physical education at New Rickstones Academy are as follows:

• Short sleeved polo shirt with Academy logo (boys and girls)**;
• PE rugby top with Academy logo (boys only)**;
• PE fleece with Academy logo (girls only) **;
• Black shorts;
• Long black socks (boys football and boys rugby);
• Football boots (boys only);
• Trainers;
• Black tracksuit bottoms (boys and girls).

Performing Arts Uniform – Years 9 to 13 examination classes only

• Performing Arts track suit bottom with Academy logo **;
• Performing Arts T-shirt with Academy logo **;
• Black plimsolls or soft soled trainers.

** These items must be purchased from the Academy at Community Reception.

All items should be clearly named so that if misplaced they can easily be returned to the owner.
