Comenius Project

New Rickstones Academy is part of a large European-wide school project called ‘Comenius’.

Three of our Year 11 students have just recently returned from a very successful trip to Poland.  The project involves schools from five different countries:  Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Cyprus and England.  New Rickstones Academy will be hosting the final leg of the project in May 2013.

The second part of the project is almost upon us, and in March, students will be visiting a school in Limasol, Cyprus.  They will be spending a week living with local families, learning about other cultures and visiting exciting places around the country.

The project's title is "Everyone matters" and it is intended to address the language, culture, history, healthy lifestyle and sport issues of each participating country.  The project is aimed at secondary school students, their parents, teachers and wider community.  This will be accomplished with meetings, cultural and sport presentations, surveys and producing a communicative multi language dictionary.
