Dress Code - Key Stage 5

The general principle that underpins the dress code is that clothing should be smart at all times and suitable for an indoor, academic working environment.  Girls should not wear low cut tops or short skirts (above the knee) and boys should not wear sleeveless T-shirts or vests. Extremes of fashion must be avoided.

Sixth form students are the senior students in the Academy and act as ambassadors in the community, therefore smart, sensible dress is a ‘must’.

The above points are expected guidelines.  Decisions taken in this respect will be absolute, to ensure the Academy’s standards for health, safety, decency and style are upheld.

Student Bags

A suitable bag is essential for carrying school books and equipment. The bag should have the name of the owner written inside.

Writing Materials

Students must provide a pencil case which contains 2 pens, 2 pencils, a rubber and ruler for all lessons, unless otherwise instructed by the subject teacher, e.g. in PE.

Mobile Phones and other Small Electronic Items

Mobile phones may be brought into the Academy but are to be turned off during lesson times.

All items should be clearly named so that if misplaced they can easily be returned to the owners.
